I am pleased to welcome you to the 3rd International Conference of the Saudi Diabetes & Endocrine Association in collaboration with the Endocrine Society, Highlights of ENDO. The Endocrine Society is proud to collaborate on this annual event which brings esteemed faculty from around the world to interact as we all reach for the same goal of advancing excellence in endocrinology.

Founded in 1916, the Endocrine Society is the world's oldest, largest, and most active organization devoted to research on hormones and the clinical practice of endocrinology. In 2016, the Endocrine Society celebrates its centennial. With over 18,500 members from more than 100 countries, the Society is focused on creating collaborative relationships with other endocrine Societies around the globe. We are confident that we will build lasting relationships here at this meeting and look forward to what we can learn from each other.

I want to thank the leadership of SDEA for inviting the Endocrine Society to partner in what I’m sure will be a great program.

SDEA Chairman Address

Published in Words

The Saudi Diabetes & Endocrine Association is the oldest charitable organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was created to raise the level of awareness of the community at large; regarding the importance of leading healthy lifestyles to prevent the spread of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and its complications.

SDEA's two arms to fulfill its mission are public events as well as scientific conferences, workshops, and symposia.

This 3rd International Conference is a culmination of its continuous endeavors to enrich the scientific community.

As the Chairman, it is my pleasure that the Endocrine Society has joined hands for the first time with a Saudi organization to build upon previous successes.

I look forward that such collaboration becomes a continuous constant.

I wish all attendees an enriching three-day experience that is useful to them in their daily medical practice.

Thank you.

SDEA Secretary General Address

To arrive to this point of SDEA's efforts to maintain scientific gatherings of this magnitude, the process started end of April 2016.

The fruits of the organizing committee's hard work paid off. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to SDEA's 3rd International Conference, "Highlights of Endo".

This could not have happened without the acceptance of the premier body in the field of endocrinology, the Endocrine Society. This is its first collaboration of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Collaboratively, we have been able to attract the best Subject Matter Experts in the field; nationally, regionally and internationally.

We hope the upcoming three days will be to your satisfaction in the sharing of knowledge, experience, and intellectual exchange.

Thank you,

Dr. Kamil Salamah
SDEA Secretary General

As the Governor of the Eastern Province, it has always been my pleasure to champion such scientific conferences to promote state-of-the-art knowledge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It is through such gatherings that we can sustain transfer of knowledge between intellectual bodies around the world. The health and well-being of the community only gains from such functions as healthy individuals are able to add value to society.

The Saudi Diabetes & Endocrine Association has always played an important role to fulfill its mission and vision along the above-stated message, and it continues to build upon previous conferences successfully.

I hope that this year's collaboration with the Endocrine Society is the beginning of a new era to build upon.

I wish everyone all the best during this three-day event, and I welcome you all to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

HRH Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz
Governor of the Eastern Region
