RESEARCH

I understand the research principles: study preparation, patient recruitment, experimental procedures, data analysis and presentation. Indeed in regard to the latter I have completed related training courses, including, ‘How to write a paper’, ‘Presentation skills’.

I was co-investigator in a study of Atrial Natuiretic Peptide and it is effect on urinary albumin excretion in people with normoalbuminuric type 2 diabetes. I was also co-investigator in a study of Osmoregulation in Patients with SIADH during my tenure at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. I have conducted experiments using hypertonic saline infusion and thirst visual analogue.

During my time at Galway University Hospital, Ireland I also learned the basic techniques of cell cultures and gene expression using Adeno associated virus.
